A New Spotlight for Men's Fashion
From Sportswear to Suits, Korea Seems to be The New Dominant Trend
MVIO
It seems Korean menswear has hit a spotlight, with brands like Juun.J and Wooyoungmi paving the way in Paris. Considering this, it comes as no surprise that the clear favorites (from the international press and the local crowds) are those of the menswear designers this season.

Suiting and sportswear seem to be the overwhelming trends, not quite fast fashion but clearly referenced by the west, designers like Jehee Sheen and G.I.L Homme, although completely different from each other, similarly play with trend based separates and slim suiting. WhileMVIO and General Idea mix key fitted looks with colorful rain gear.
Beyond Closet
Nostalgia seems to be the center-stone of brands such as Andy & Debb, Alani and Beyond Closet, showing a range which references a dandy from another era. Resurrection, who also shows on the New York fashion calendar, attempts to hammer-in the idea that they are “alternative” by artfully lacing a good majority of their offerings and showing it with their signature man-skirt.

Clear stand-outs being Groundwave and Cy Choi with their ongoing conversation with tradition, both consistent yet fresh. One makes a statement with traditional tailoring and the other with material – which includes mixing paper and wool in a single look.
