The Generation Next (New Upcoming Designers)
At the Groundwave collection, a performance where a man in a lab coat as if appearing straight out of a laboratory puts a shirt and jacket on a model, who appeared on stage in just a pair of pants, signaled the start of the show. With soft whispering wind as the main theme of the collection, designers Kim Sun Ho and Park Jung Eun figuratively expressed the wind blowing through the desolate city through tone-on-tone patchwork, cuts and silhouettes that seem to rustle in the wind, asymmetrical design to deliver a sense of fantasy and dream, and expressed soft and light inspired by light, wind and sand through the use of soft cotton, light taffeta, polyester and modal. In particular, details such as double collared shirt, trench coat with the button closure at the slit in the back and modern pants with a unique cut effectively conveyed a look as if the pattern had been shredded by the wind. The bold necklace filled with liquid provided a touch of welcome surprise to the lightness of the fabric and design, adding an element of entertainment and fun to the outfit. Above all, the fact that classical items such as trench coats and cigarette pants that can be a bit mundane were updated through strategic slits and darts, adding an element novelty without over exaggeration. All these details resulted in a beautiful collection with perfectly coordinated items, inviting a big round of applause from the audience.
